Police make it into final, beating Gandaki by six-wicket

Rashid Khan sparked with the ball as Nepal Police Club beat Gandaki Province by six wickets to book their place in the final of the Prime Minister’s Cup Men’s National Cricket Tournament on Monday at Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Electing to field first, The Policemen bowled out Gandaki Province on 170 runs in a reduced 45 overs. They took 24.2 overs to chase down the target, losing four wickets.

Number 9 batsman, Amrit Gurung, top-scored for Gandaki Province with a quick-fire 50 off 39 deliveries, including 8 fours and two sixes. Karan Pangeni (30) and Kamal Pariyar (30) made other major contributions to the losing side.

For Nepal Police Club, Rashid Khan picked up a five-wicket haul, conceding 25 runs from 6 overs. Lalit Rajbanshi picked up two wickets from 9 overs, giving away 32 runs.

Chasing the target, in-form batsman Dilip Nath made 57 runs from 39 balls involving 6 fours and 4 hits over the fence. Arjun Saud remained unbeaten on 44 from 49 balls with 4 boundaries and a six.

Sandeep Parajuli picked up two wickets in 6.2 overs, expending 21 runs for the Gandaki.
