Madhesh Province registered the sixth win, bearing Lumbini Province by nine runs at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Sunday in the Prime Minister Cup National Cricket Tournament.
Madhesh is currently holding the number three spot in the league standing. They will finish in the top four if few results go in their favor.
Being invited to bat first, Madhesh only posted 169 runs from 41.3 overs. Later, Lumbini fell 9 runs short. The match was reduced to 42 overs with a wet outfield delaying the proceedings.
Arniko Yadav was the top scorer for Madhesh with 38 from 50 deliveries, which involved three sixes. Abhishek Tiwari gave the finishing touch to Madhesh’s innings with 26 from 28 balls hitting four boundaries.
Bir Magar from Lumbini Province picked up four wickets in his 8.3 overs, conceding 34 runs. Avishek Gautam took three wickets from 9 overs, giving away 37 runs.
Prajjwol Thapa fought till the end for Lumbini, scoring 62 from 79 deliveries, including 4 boundaries and 3 sixes, but he didn’t receive support from any other batsman.
Pradip Paswan was adjudged as player of the match for his bowling figure of 6/30 in 9 overs.
